The Mount Dora Champion is Closed for the Summer Returning in the Fall

The Mount Dora Champion will give you the opportunity to enjoy a train ride through the famous Golden Triangle of Central Florida. The Mount Dora Champion is a one hour fifteen minute train ride between Mount Dora and beautiful Wooton Park in Tavares, pulled by Herbie, our 1942 General Electric 45 ton center cab locomotive. Stainless steel passenger coaches will make the ride relaxing and fun. Our conductor will tell you all about the cars you are riding, the history of the tracks and point out interesting spots along the way.

While riding the rails you will pass along the shores of Lake Dora, travel along Old Highway 441, and end up in historic Tavares. In Tavares, your train will be turned on our 100 year old wye.

Boarding is easy. Our station in Mount Dora is located at 150 West Third Avenue. This is a non-reserved train.

In compliance with the Florida Clean Indoor Air Act, Smoking is not permitted on any ILRW train.
